The Boys & Girls Clubs of Waterville Celebrate a Century of Community Impact with a 100th Year Birthday Bash

Waterville, Maine — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Waterville, now part of the Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC), is proud to announce its 100th Year Birthday Bash, commemorating a century of unwavering service to the community. This monumental celebration will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 7 to 11 PM, at the AYCC’s state-of-the-art facility.

Since its inception in 1924, the Boys Club of Waterville has served as a cornerstone for youth development, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for generations. Originally founded to provide young men with recreational and educational opportunities, the club expanded its reach to include girls in 1972, becoming a vital resource for all children and families in the community.

Throughout its history, the club has continually evolved to meet the needs of the Waterville area. From afterschool programs and athletics to aquatics and leadership development, the organization has enriched the lives of countless youth. In 1999, the historic merger with the Waterville YMCA gave rise to the Alfond Youth & Community Center, creating the nation’s only combined Boys & Girls Club and YMCA, a model of collaboration that continues to thrive today.
